Overview

The automotive industry is experiencing new levels of competition from many different sources. There is significant pressure for automakers to build a safer, more efficient product that meets or exceeds todays tough safety and environmental criteria while reducing production costs. In addition auto companies are working hard to speed up the product development process and at the same time improve vehicle robustness and reliability.
These 40-minute webinar sessions will demonstrate how the HyperWorks Alliance Partners can help companies address these complex challenges

What You Will Learn...

The latest in simulation technology to bring innovative products to market
Improve decision making through advanced CAE techniques
Case Studies and specific examples within the auto industry

FEA – Test Correlation and Model Updating with VMAP

The product design engineering teams in automotive companies are constantly working to improve the NVH performance of their designs. The simulation-driven design approach is constantly reducing the man hours spent on testing. The challenge is to make the simulation as a reliable decision-making tool while meeting the continuously reducing development timelines and budgets.

VMAP provides a one-stop solution to address the key problem faced by design teams consisting of simulation and test engineers. VMAP empowers the simulation engineers with a user-friendly FEA-Test Correlation tool for correlation of experimental modal analysis and FE-modal analysis results. It also provides an accurate and simple model updating solver to automatically modify simulation model based on experimental vibration data.

This webinar will use a set of case studies to explain the 2D approach – a process driven approach to design components and systems by combining both the vibration test and simulation models. The examples demonstrated include automotive components and subsystems. The webinar will feature test data acquired with simple impact testing and state-of-the art laser vibrometer technology.
